Dogs who made it home
The reason the ranch exists. Written from the ranch's own posts.
These are dogs that came to Renegade Rex K9 Ranch in Port St. Lucie, Florida, many from euthanasia lists or surrenders, and left with a family or a working job. In the first week of October 2026 alone, eight dogs were adopted or placed. The stories below are written from the ranch's own Instagram posts.
Angie
Malinois, mother of the litter
Angie arrived at the ranch pregnant, worn down by overbreeding and carrying the cosmetic marks of it. She had her six puppies here and raised them like a rockstar. We were nervous people would overlook her. We could not have been more wrong. In early October she was picked up by active owners in their 30s and a Scottish Terrier sister named Sally, ball driven and goofy to the end. Have the best life, mama.
Taffy
1 year old, adopted October 2026
Taffy went home to a family who had already adopted Riggs, a German Shepherd, from the ranch in December 2025. The setup is a working dog's dream: a real farm on five acres with cows, goats, chickens and pigs, and a pack that includes another Malinois, a Shepherd and Nova, a black shepherd mix Taffy met and matched with on the spot.
Kairo and Draco
Placed into police work
Kyle Roth, a certified K9 handler and explosives detection expert, spent seven hours at the ranch testing the pack. Kairo and Draco passed with flying colors and headed to a specialized facility in North Carolina for advanced training before placement with police departments as dual purpose dogs, detection and apprehension. The unwanted doing big things.
Thunder and Max
Heading to Florida police departments
Thunder and Max went to Brooke, one of the K9 vendors the ranch works with, and will most likely be placed with police departments in Florida. The same week, eight dogs left the ranch for homes and working jobs.
